It seems that the trip by both men will stumble into a different turn. The trip begins when two friends decide to visit Ojai, California, determined to make a fake documentary about the famous vampire Ogai. Maybe there was not a real plan for that trip where things turn completely and take a terrifying and exciting aspect when they get to know a different local legend: The Char Man, and perhaps it was not taken into account.
